FAQ

1. How do I know that my photos are suitable for book design? We want to work with the highest resolution possible in order to be able to crop, manipulate, embellish and design your images into beautiful books. Generally speaking we want a file that can be printed as an 8x10 size with good quality... if you are not sure about the resolution of your files, upload one to us at www.freefilecheck.com and we'll send you the results back the same day (weekdays).

2. Do I need to size my files, or change them in any way? No, we'll do all the sizing, cropping, and color balancing. We offer a "hands off" service, we want you to be the album/book owner, you don't need to turn into a Graphic Design Wizard. You will also be able to email your book designer for design questions.

3. How do I organize my photos? How do I tell you what order I want? After you order your design, an email will be sent containing some tips and suggestions on how to organize your photos... we require that all files are numbered in the order that you want them to appear in your design... this is the only way that the designer will be able to figure out who's who in the photos, plus it provides your with more control over the final outcome. You'll also have two set of changes to fine tune your design online.

4. My photographer does not provide the high resolution photos... can I give you the prints for scanning? or do you accept scanned photos? We respect and abide to all copyright laws, therefore we do not accept prints or scanned material unless there's written permission from the photographer to do so. If your photographer does not provide the copyright release of the photos you can probably ask to order an album from them. When you place your order you certify to be the owner of the photos and to have permission to reproduce the images. You will be 100% responsible for any copyright infringement issues. We suggest having a written copyright release from your professional photographer.

5. I got film negatives from my photographer, do you accept film negaties? No...Sorry, we only work with digital files. You may try your local photo lab, most places provide negative scanning services.

6. I am a professional photographer, I would like to refer my clients to you for book design, can you send me info to give out? Sure, fillout our online form and we'll send you a kit with catalogs and CD mailers.

7. Do you have discounts for multiple albums? Yes, after your design is complete, you'll be able to order albums and books at 20% off and copies. Free shipping on all orders.

8. How long do you keep the design on file? We have signed up with www.storemyalbum.com in order to offer "For Life Album Storage". Your design will be available for extra reprints or for viewing anytime you want. Your login settings will be emailed after the design is finished.

9. After the design is final, how long does it take to produce my album? Flush Mount albums take 3-4 weeks (there's a $50 rush charge for a 2 week turnaround). Coffee Table books take 3-4 weeks (no rush available).

10. How do I get started? Ordering is easy. Click "Place Order" and choose the style you like (the style is to let the designer know about your design preferences, color, etc.), order the design online, then an email will be sent to you with suggestions on how to organize your photos, send your CD with images to the address indicated on the email (include a copy of your receipt). Your design will be ready in 7 - 10 days. You will be in contact with the designer via email for any comments, your will be able to make to sets of changes online.
